Scientist of the Week
1. I was born on August 10, 1846.
2. I was born at Soultz-sous-Forêts, Alsace, studied under
Jean-Baptiste Boussingault in Paris at the Institut National Agronomique.
3. In 1914, I was also director of the research station for
plant chemistry at Meudon Collège de France.
4. I was a member of the Académie des sciences from 1896 to
1917 and the Académie d'Agriculture from 1915.
